While many celebs have been crashing out on sunloungers it’s been work, work, work for Little Mix. The X Factor winners have been hard at it all summer and are hoping to reap their rewards with a place in the Guinness Book of Records plus the release of the first single from their new album.
The band will be in Bluewater on Thursday, August 30, bidding for a world record for the largest book signing ever. Their book, Little Mix: Ready to Fly, details their journey from four individual hopefuls to becoming the first group to win the X Factor in December last year.
These days Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall are a much more polished outfit than the four nervous girls who were put together on the ITV show and mentored to victory by Tulisa Contostavlos.
Their first single, Wings, comes out on Sunday, August 26 and after that the girls will be getting set for their world record attempt. To qualify as a participant in the record attempt, fans need to buy a copy of the book and collect a WHSmith branded wristband on the day of the attempt. Books can be bought from 7am at a WHSmith book selling point at the entrance to Lower Plaza, off Lower Thames Walk.
Only copies of the book bought here on Thursday, August 30 will count towards the record. Little Mix said: “We’re so excited. It’s going to be a wicked event and we’re really looking forward to seeing you all there. We can’t do it without you.”
The signing starts at 11am at the Lower Plaza. Call 0870 777 0252.
