Theft of cancer victim's medication

POLICE have issued an appeal for information after medication and treatment notes were stolen from a woman undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The items were in a handbag stolen by burglars who entered at a house in High Street, Goudhurst, near Tunbridge Wells, on Saturday (July 2).

The incident is likely to have happened between 8.45am and 9.30am when a relative of the victim noticed the door ajar and closed it.

The handbag's owner, who is in her 40s, was "extremely distressed" by the episode, said PC Toby Burns, who is investigating the theft. He said the cancer medication could be harmful if taken by anyone else.

PC Burns added: "The victim has a lot to deal with at the moment and this only adds to her burden. We would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has any information that could help our inquiries."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 01732 370732 (if possible quoting reference 7894) or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their name.
