A PENSIONER was burgled by three men posing as police officers as he tended to his animals in his back garden.
The 70-year-old, who lives in Gillingham, was seeing to his pets when he heard a loud banging at his front door.
As he went back into the house, he saw the trio trying to force open the door. When he opened it, they pushed their way in and rushed past him.
The pensioner asked the men who they were. They showed him some identification, which was probably fake, and said they were there in connection with a drug raid.
The man then remembered he had left his animals' pen open and went to close it.
When he returned, he discovered the three had ransacked his home and stolen cash.
The theft happened between 5.10pm and 5.35pm on Monday, February 9.
A spokesman for Medway Police said: "We are warning other people in the area to be on their guard and not to let these people in their homes."
One of the offenders is 30 to 35, 6ft and of slim build. Another is about 25 to 29, 5ft 6in and of stocky build. He was wearing dark clothes and spoke with an Irish accent. There is no description of the other man.
