A KENT farmer is desperate to retrieve his dog after thieves drove off with his car, trailer and the beloved pet.
The farmer, from Pluckley, near Ashford, who has asked not to be named, was delivering manure to a customer in Smarden when thieves jumped into his 4x4 Isuzu.
They sped off with the eight-year-old German Shepherd-Collie crossbreed, Sally, in the back of the vehicle.
The farmer said: “I couldn’t believe the audacity of it. These people were just floating around, ready to steal from people who are trying to make a living. I want Sally back. She’s a farm dog. She goes everywhere with me.”
He added: “As I came off the trailer, I looked over my shoulder and saw a white van nearby. I was delivering to the customer when I heard a noise and thought something had dropped off the trailer.”
Within moments his car, trailer and Sally were being driven down Mill Lane in Smarden, heading for Pluckley.
The farmer and his customer gave chase in her car, but lost the thieves soon afterwards.Sally is black and tan with a red collar.
