Thieves steal dustcarts worth £300,000

DETECTIVES have launched an investigation following the theft of three commercial dustcarts from a compound at the Eurolink, Sittingbourne.

The thefts occurred between 5pm on Monday and 3.45am on Tuesday (February 14).

The white and blue commercial dustcarts are valued at £100, 000 each.

Det Con Jill Hook, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have opened up a full enquiry and are following up a number of leads. A theft of this kind would have taken significant planning and I feel that it may not have been an opportunist incident.

“I would like to urge anyone who may have seen the dustcarts being driven around the county to get in contact with us.

"Also if anyone has any information that will help us track down the thieves please contact Sittingbourne Police Station.”

People with information are asked to contact either Sittingbourne Police Station on 01795 419256 or Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
