Third man charged with murder

A third person has been charged with the murder of a 36-year-old north Kent man.

Ted Shaxted died after he was allegedly attacked in his Northfleet home on December 2 last year.

A neighbour found him injured in his flat in Wallis Park. He was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, where he died on December 16.

Kelvin Horlock, 29, of Hatfield Road, Strood appeared before Dartford Magistrates Court on Thursday and was remanded into custody. He is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 11.

Two other men are also charged with murder.

Trevor Lees, 35, of London Road, Northfleet, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, June 2, pleading not guilty. A trial date has been set for January 5, 2009.

Bill Harry Saunders, 27, of Shamrock Road Gravesend is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, July 7.
