TWO teenage girls have been cautioned by police following a report that a group of young people were smashing up bins and plant pots.
The pair were arrested by members of a police patrol for causing criminal damage at around 8.30pm on Saturday Fort Pitt Hill, Chatham.
One of the girls is aged 15 and the other 16. Both come from Chatham area.
Ch Insp Peter Wedlake, of Medway Police, said: "I am confident the swift action by the patrol enforces our message that we take incidents of vandalism seriously and will not hesitate in making arrests when offences are evident.
"I would like to ask those who feel that vandalism is fun to consider the implications that having a criminal record will have on their future.
"This kind of behaviour is simply unacceptable and our patrols will continue to take action against those who commit these thoughtless acts."
