Aldington firefighters say farewell to retiring Martin Boulden

Thirty-two years as a part-time firefighter have come to an end for Martin Boulden.

He has stood down from his post at Aldington to concentrate on his full-time job as a farmer.

In recent years he has been watch manager to his 14 retained colleagues that are available to turn out to deal with emergencies around the clock.

In recognition of his service guests at his farewell parade included retained station manager Dickie Baugh and divisional commander Shaun Bone-Knell who presented Mr Boulden with a ceremonial fireman’s axe.
