Icy weather caused problems for motorists on the M2 this morning with three separate collisions closing part of the motorway.

The first accident on a stretch of the carriageway in Strood happened at 7.20am after a vehicle crashed into the central reservation.

Two other cars were then involved in separate, single-vehicle accidents causing police to close the road.

A Kent Police spokesman said the road was slippery and a gritter has been called in to prevent any further accidents.
