Three rob store staff at knifepoint

A VILLAGE shop has been targeted by armed robbers for the second time in two months. A woman and two men, each carrying knives, threatened staff at the One Stop in Canterbury Road, Hawkinge, near Folkestone.

Staff were forced to hand over cash and phone cards. They were shaken after the incident but unharmed.

There was another robbery at the store on October 28. Police are investigating to see if the two could be linked. Jon Green, a spokesman with South East Kent Police, said: "Police are trying to establish if there is a link."

The woman and the two men all had scarves wrapped around their faces to disguise their identity.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident which happened on Sunday, shortly before 11pm, to contact them on 01303 850055.
