Part of the A249 has been closed after an accident.

The accident, believed to have involved three vehicles, happened at around 2pm on the Maidstone bound carriageway, around 200 yards from the Stockbury roundabout.

Lane one of the A249 is closed but lane two remains open.

A spokesman for Kent Police said it was believed at this stage that some of those involved suffered minor injuries and were being taken to hospital as a precaution.

Both Kent Fire and Rescue and the South East Coast Ambulance Service are present at the scene.
