A thug has admitted stabbing this pet dog a number of times after he claimed it bit him on the hand.

Stuart O'Keeffe, 23, stabbed Bullet the bulldog-Staffordshire cross, in Gillingham, last month.

O'Keeffe, of Duncan Road, Gillingham, admitted the crime when he appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court.

He was charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal after the attack, on Sunday, September 5.

Bullet, who was taken to a vet for emergency treatment, survived his injuries, despite losing blood.

He was stabbed in back leg areas at least three times by O'Keeffe who will be sentenced next month.

At the time the dog was owned by Africa Johnson, of Priestfield Road, also in Gillingham.

Africa had owned Bullet since he was a puppy but now Bullet is living in London being looked after by someone else.

He is said to be back to his normal self following the incident.

O'Keeffe's case was adjourned earlier this week after he pleaded guilty and he will be sentenced by magistrates on Monday, November 29.
