Thunderstorms could bring the hottest day of the year to an abrupt end just as many get off work.
The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning in place for thunderstorms from 4pm until midnight across Kent.
The warning means damage to buildings from lightning strikes is likely and there could also be flooding and power outages which may impact public transport.
Meanwhile as temperatures soar across the county queues of 7.5 miles have built up on the M2 and Camber Sands - one of the regions most popular beaches - is already full.
The mercury is set to rocket to the early 30s today, with similar predictions for tomorrow.
