Music fans have lost hundreds of pounds after a booking agency failed to send tickets in time for their events.
Jonathan Willis and his partner Lynn from Broadstairs, lost a total of £185 after two tickets they bought from the SOS Master Ticket agency for Sunday’s George Michael concert at London’s Earl’s Court didn’t materialise.
Jonathan has since reported the matter to trading standards and the police after reassurances from the company that the tickets were on their way proved worthless.
The couple are thought to be among hundreds around the country who handed over money for tickets which didn’t arrive.
Jonathan said: “Lynn booked these tickets as a birthday present for herself and was excited at the idea of going to the concert.
"We phoned and emailed SOS Master Ticket and were told the tickets were on their way, but they haven’t turned up.
“After a time their website went offline and their phones went dead so we have no way of communicating with them.
“I’ve been on the internet and there are lots more people in the same situation as us.
"If anybody else in Thanet has paid for tickets from these people, it doesn’t look like they’re going to get them.”
It’s not just fans buying tickets for the George Michael concert who have lost out. The recent V festival, events at Reading and Leeds and a Madonna concert have also been affected.
