Music lovers who remember Joan Armatrading’s set at the Hop Farm Music Festival this summer can relive that sunny afternoon on two Kent tour dates.
The Love and Affection singer-songwriter and Ivor Novello Award winner has released 17 albums including this year’s jazz-flavoured Starlight, the follow up to her blues influenced Into The Blues (2007) and This Charming Life (2010.)
Joan holds the accolade of being the first UK woman to be nominated for a Grammy in the blues category and was also the first female UK artist to have debuted at No1 in the Billboard Blues charts.
Other hits of hers include Drop the Pilot, Willow, The Weakness in Me and Me Myself I.
The two Kent shows on her 52-date UK tour are supported by Faversham-based folk singer-songwriter Chris Wood. She arrives at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre on Wednesday, October 10. Tickets £29.50.
