Tempt your tastebuds into submission at the third annual Broadstairs Food Festival.

More than 100 stalls will sell Kentish produce at the three-day Broadstairs Food Festival.

Now firmly established in the county's autumn calendar the festival takes place at Victoria Gardens and promenade from Friday, September 30 until Sunday, October 2.

Cookery demonstrations will be held throughout the event at The Kitchen Theatre marquee on the clifftop.

These will include performances by Thanet College's award-winning teams, Dev Biswal from the Ambrette in Margate, Quex Park Estates, Azafran, Ems Cupcakes, Nonna's Kitchen, Aqua 43 and The Minnis Bar and Restaurant.

New this year is the Broadstairs Food Trail introducing the best of the town's cuisine with people able to savour food from around the world, while Thanet-based retailers will take part in a creative window-decorating competition.

Stalls will sell real ale, artisan breads, home-made cakes, rare breed meats and organically farmed fruit and juices.

Organisers - Broadstairs Events Support Community Interest Company - are optimistic it will beat last year's attendance of 21,000 visitors.

Chairman John Prentis said: "The Broadstairs community has come together to share its passion for local food and drink."

Top chef Gary Rhodes - who studied catering at Thanet College - said: "I am so pleased the festival has quickly established itself as a significant event in the calendar."

The celebrity chef said that he is happy to endorse the event that "provides a real focus on the magnificent produce and products of the Isle of Thanet and Kent, the Garden of England".
