Toddler's escape as building collapses

A THREE-year-old child playing in a garden had a narrow escape when a building which was being demolished collapsed on top of a garden shed.

Several outbuildings at the back of Eason Villas, Maidstone Road, Marden, were flattened or damaged when part of a redundant warehouse fell on them at lunchtime on Thursday.

Phillip Lerwill said his wife, Juliet, had been left shocked because their son, Christopher, had been playing in the garden only yards from the shed.
