Cody McDonald believes two-goal hero Andy Barcham will be too hot to handle once he reaches peak condition.

Barcham (pictured) netted both of Gillingham’s first-half goals in the 3-1 win against Accrington at Priestfield on Saturday.

The winger has been plagued by an ankle injury all season but his return has given the Gills an added dimension.

McDonald has been the main man with goals this season but was delighted to see Barcham, last season’s player-of-the-year, reclaim some of the limelight.

"He was brilliant; two chances, two goals," said McDonald on Barcham’s performance.

"What else could you ask? He gives us that different dimension out there.

"He has pace, he works hard and he helps John Nutter (left-back) out a lot.

"He is still getting back with his fitness and when he is 100 per cent nobody in this league will be able to handle him."
