Town centre road closed after accident

A man was injured after being struck by a car in The Brook, Chatham, on Monday.

The town centre road was closed for more than three hours after the accident, which happened at about 11.30am.

It is not thought the man has life-threatening injuries, but is understood to have broken a limb and suffered facial injuries.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The car involved in the accident was a Vauxhall Astra.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: “The man was in a lot of pain and is thought to have suffered broken bones as well as injures to his face.”
