Margate's most famous daughter, Tracey Emin, has been delving into her family history for a BBC documentary.
The 48-year-old artist will feature in the last episode of the current series of Who Do You Think You Are?, which airs at 9pm tonight on BBC1.
The programme helps celebrities to trace their family trees and many are surprised by the revelations uncovered by the show's professional researchers.
Although programme-makers keep specific details close to their chests before the show is broadcast, it has been described as follows: "Tracey Emin's exploration of her family heritage leads to some surprising and sometimes unwelcome discoveries, including stories of hardship and hard labour.
"Tracey is relieved at least to discover that her family history is far from ordinary."
Who Do You Think You Are? is now in its eighth series and there are 11 international versions.
Other celebrates who have featured in the show's current run include Harry Potter author JK Rowling, comedian Alan Carr and Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman.
