Tragic young biker had 'many entrepreneurial skills'

THE parents of a young motorcyclist killed when he was in collision with a car have thanked the many people who have left flowers and cards at the scene of the tragedy.

The victim, 22-year-old Lloyd Haines, lived in Rochester High Street with his fiancé Helen, who is 21.

Mr Haines was killed on Sunday, June 3, on the A2 Watling Street at the junction with Elaine Avenue, Strood.

Paying tribute to their son, Lisa Haines and Mark Lucas said: "Lloyd used his many entrepreneurial skills and contacts in the buying and selling of cars and property. He most certainly had a successful future in front of him.

"He will be sadly missed by his proud grandparents, parents, brother, fiancé, uncles, aunts, cousins and the many friends that will forever hold him in their thoughts.

"Members of his family would like to thank the hundreds of people for their amazing support and beautiful floral tributes which have been left on a tree near the scene of the accident."

Mr Haines grew up in the Dartford area with his mother and grandparents.

Police are still appealing for information about the crash which occurred at about 11.50am.

The driver of the Ford car involved, a 54-year-old local man, suffered shock but did not require hospital treatment.
