Kent's commuters faced nightmare journeys home last night as all trains at London Victoria were delayed or cancelled.
An electrical fault has been blamed for the problem, which caused disruption until services came to an end after midnight.
A Southeastern spokesman said: "Due to failure of the electricity supply at London Victoria all lines are disrupted.
"Services running to and from the station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
"Disruption is expected to continue until end of service."
Officials said the power supply issue has affected the electrical control room that serves all routes to and from the station and was causing signals to turn red for safety reasons.
London Victoria to Dartford services have been suspended until the end of the day and passengers are being told to travel to Charing Cross on the underground and use Dartford-bound trains from there.
Due to the disruption rail passengers are being allowed to use their ticket at no extra cost on high speed Southeastern services from St Pancras, the London Underground and London buses "via reasonable routes".
