MEMBERS of a group of travellers who set up base at Margate’s Tivoli Park have been told to leave by police and Thanet council.

Half a dozen caravans arrived last Wednesday night and have been staying by the Hartsdown Road part of the municipal park since.

A police spokeswoman said today that a Section 6 notice ordering the travellers to leave by Tuesday had been served on them.
