A small part of a tree on a railway line brought services running through Kent to a halt this evening.
Just after 5pm, Southeastern tweeted about a “tree” on the line at Kearsney meaning services which run between Dover Priory and Shepherds Well were being delayed and could be revised or cancelled.
Although, now the service provider has tweeted a picture of the obstruction on the track, which was infact not a tree, but a branch.
“We're making arrangements to move the tree ASAP,” Southeastern tweeted at the time.
In their most recent tweet, bosses at Southeastern say the “tree” has now been removed meaning trains can start moving again.
“The tree at Kearsney has been removed and services will resume running in both directions,” the tweet reads.
“The first service will be the 6.23pm from Dover Priory to Gillingham.
“Thanks to our driver and conductor that quickly and efficiently removed this tree, enabling us to reopen the Canterbury East Line.”
Passengers who have been delayed by 15 minutes or more can claim compensation via the Southeastern website.
