Tributes have been paid to a Faversham teenager killed over the weekend at the town’s Recreation Ground.

Adam Beaney, 19, was seriously assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning near to public toilets.

Adam (pictured left) was found between 2.30am and 3am with a chest wound and later died at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Rickie Mount, 20, of Edward Vinson Drive, Faversham, has been charged with his murder and appeared in court on Tuesday morning

A former pupil of Whitstable Community College and Sheppey College, Adam lived with his grandmother.

He had a loving relationship with his girlfriend Alicia, was a lover of reggae music and football, supporting Manchester United.

The family have been touched by tragedy before. Aged just nine, Adam, his younger brother and two sisters unexpectedly lost their mother.

Father Tommy said his wife’s death made Adam an extremely strong character.

He said: “I was so proud of the way he looked out for his younger sisters and brother.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better son. We are thinking of him every day.”

He added: “Adam loved life and I loved him with all my heart.

“I loved the way he was always laughing. He had his whole life ahead of him and now he’s gone, we miss him terribly.”

Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward.
