POLICE have named a young mother of two killed in a car crash with her children and partner by her side.

Susan Marshall, of Shepherd Street, Northfleet, died at the scene of the accident after the family's car careered off the road and hit a tree.

The tragedy happened on the Thanet Way, near Faversham, last Sunday afternoon.

Ms Marshall was travelling with her partner of 13 years John Elderton, who was at the wheel, and their two children, daughter Samantha, six, and two-month-old baby George. They were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Ms Marshall's mother Chris, 55, said: "Words cannot describe what we are going through. She had time for everybody. She was like that."

Ms Marshall's sister Anna Marshall, 26, said: "I think she would have been glad that John was there with her, to hold her hand until the end, someone she loved and trusted."
