Tributes to tragic young moped rider

TRIBUTES have been paid to a music student who was found dying at the side of a road.

Lyndon Hogben, 16, was in the first year of a music diploma at Canterbury College. Until last year he was a pupil at Chaucer Technology School.

Police believe Lyndon, of Woodside, Dunkirk, had come off his moped on the Thanet Way and had pushed the machine for some distance before being found in Crockham Road, Hernhill, around 10.10pm on Monday.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

College music section manager Ian Mollatt said: "Lyndon was a very promising student and a very capable piano player."

Chaucer head teacher Simon Murphy, said: "He was a very popular lad. He will be sorely missed."
