Three teenagers have been charged in connection with an assault which left a Rainham boy fighting for his life.
Jack Blanchard, 13, suffered serious head injuries in the attack in Parkwood Green in July.
He spent weeks in intensive care, but is now making a slow recovery and is being allowed home at weekends.
Five teenagers were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, soon after the incident on Wednesday, July 23, but two have now been released without charge.
Three have been charged with causing grevious bodily harm. They cannot be named for legal reasons but two are 14 and the other is 13.
Chief Insp Des Keers said: “We can confirm three teenage boys have been charged with grevious bodily harm with intent, in relation to the assault on Jack Blanchard.
“Two other teenagers have been released without charge.”
The three will appear before a youth court at Medway Magistrates at a later date.
