Dartford's River Crossing is open again after a lorry crashed today causing the west tunnel to be closed.

Police were called to the incident shortly before 2pm and reported serious congestion in the area.

But the tunnel has now reopened and tailbacks are clearing.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "A lorry was involved in a minor collision and has come to a stop inside the tunnel.

"No other vehicles were involved.

"The driver is believed to have suffered minor injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening."
