Welling moved nine points clear at the top of Blue Square Bet South as they took full advantage of beating the weather by defeating Truro.
In one of only two games in the division to take place, the Wings collected all three points thanks to Theo Fairweather-Johnson and Ross Lafayette's (pictured) double.
Welling settled quickly and took the lead in the 19th minute when the impressive Jake Gallagher fed Fairweather-Johnson, restored to the side at the expense of Kiernan Hughes-Mason, and his low right-foot finish proved too good for keeper Luke Payne.
Gallagher was the provider again moments later, picking out Lafayette this time but his left-foot shot went wide of the far post.
Truro went agonisingly close to an equaliser midway through the first half. Jordan Copp's long-range potshot fell invitingly to Andy Watkins but hiis close-range finish came back off the post and was cleared to safety.
Welling doubled their advantage four minutes before half-time when good work by Lee Clarke saw him beat Cody Cooke and fire in a right-foot shot that Payne could only parry at the feet of Lafayette, who did the rest from close range.
The visitors gave Truro little hope early in the second half, defending well as a unit and keeping any chances to long range.
Welling wrapped the game up midway through the half when Anthony Acheampong was tripped in the area and Lafayette's penalty trickled over the line, despite the best efforts of Payne.
Truro substitute Matt Wright fluffed a glorious chance to pull one back, heading Watkins' deep cross wide while Welling could have added a fourth late on but substitute Hughes-Mason's cross was just too far ahead of Kurtis Guthrie.
Welling will host Chelmsford on Good Friday, knowing victory will increase their lead at the top to 12 points with Salisbury not in action again until they host Tonbridge on Saturday.
