with Breakfast DJ Emma Saint
As Andy is away this week enjoying himself, I’ve stepped in! If you haven’t heard me before, I’m Emma Saint and I’ve been working on kmfm Breakfast for about four weeks now and I’m loving every minute! The last few weeks have been manic and if you’ve tuned into the show you may have heard me and co-host Rob Wills talking about his new fitness regime.
This stems from his addiction to fizzy drinks, takeaways and a lack of exercise in general! I’m pleased to say Rob is doing really well after joining a gym. I took it upon myself to be his gym buddy – you know what they say about getting fit, it’s better to do it with a friend. I’ve noticed I’m getting a bit wobbly around the edges so I thought a bit of toning would do me good, but so far all I’ve managed to do is developed a hatred of exercise machines.
Every time I leave the gym the smell of Starbucks wafts over me and before I know what’s happening I’m paying for a large white chocolate mocha with whipped cream and sprinkles!
“It’s a treat,” I tell myself, I deserve it, I worked hard.” I go home and I’m starving! But rather than tucking into a salad I find myself craving very stodgy food....and before I know it I’ve cooked a deep pan pepperoni pizza and I’ve even added extra cheese! “It’s ok,” I tell myself again, “this will be my last treat.” Then I come into work and it’s time to weigh Rob. He’s lost weight.
“Your turn Emma,” he says to me grinning.
As I step on the scales I can feel that pepperoni pizza sitting on my tummy.... I’ve put on weight.
It seems Rob and I have switched roles. I’ve become the buddy that’s eating the bad things he’s not allowed!
So be warned, next time you offer to help a friend, perhaps you’d just be better congratulating them every time you see them! Happy eating!
Fans screamed, jumped on the spot and unashamedly cried their eyes out as boyband The Wanted arrived for an interview on the kmfm Breakfast Show with Rob and Emma this week, pictured above.
The boys surprised fans, arriving half an hour early for the pre-recording of their Christmas show that will go out exclusively on kmfm. Be sure to check out the kmfm page in What's On for more details on the show.
Emma and Rob present kmfm Breakfast, Monday to Friday from 5.30am to 9am.
