A cheapskate’s guide to saving.

A question I was asking on kmfm Drivetime was “a woman who refuses to spend any money, serves what to her family at dinner time?” The answer, disgustingly is road kill.

Answers such as leftover produce from supermarkets, or eating with neighbours were both popular answers and ones which would spring to mind before the actual correct answer.

The woman I was talking about features in a new TV show, Extreme Cheapskates. Not only does she not pay for food, she also refuses to buy a television, telephone or new clothes for her children.

I know you are reading this thinking it is weird – then spare a thought for another woman who doesn’t use toilet paper to save money. She also washes her clothes in the shower at the same time she washes. Well, it is one way of saving money on water.

I have also been fascinated by a website which sees female railway commuters take sneaky photos of men that they think are attractive and then post them for others to view.

Wow! This is unfair. Us men do not even know you are taking these pictures. We could be on the 5:52pm from Strood when someone thinks, “hello hunk” and snap.

The next minute you’re plastered all over the internet. Anyway, if you’re a bloke and want to find out if you’ve been framed – or even a girl wanting to see if your feller has been posing on the Bakerloo Line – check out tubecrush.net. That is enough new excitement for a week.

How about some winning? Free Ferry Friday could see you win a family P&O ferry crossing every week. It’s all written in the title of the competition really. Simply go to www.kmfm.co.uk click on the Free Ferry Friday link and register. I could then be calling you back on kmfm Drivetime at the end of the week to tell you that you have won. Possibly one of the easiest competitions you’ve ever entered. Good luck.

I want to leave you with a ‘one to watch’ this week. Listen out for The Overtones’ Loving The Sound. Imagine Michael Buble mixed with a hint of Glee and a sprinkle of a Hairspray the musical.

It is brilliant. Listen out for it on kmfm all week.
