As we move towards August and the sun finally starts to shine and the weather is hotting up – yes I am going out on a limb here and going to state we will be having even more sunshine – the tunes for this summer are very infectious.
Calvin Harris – the hugely successful Scottish DJ – has teamed up with Example, pictured, for a new song We’ll Be Coming Back. It is like Rihanna duetting with Britney Spears. Between them Calvin and Example have come up with a melodic piece of dance music. You may expect the chorus to build up into more of a hooky affair, at the pace of Usain Bolt. However, the pace doesn’t quite hit those heights and seems more like a 400m runner. I like how they have done this though.
Pink is back! She has had her first child, Willow Sage, and has returned to the studio recording a new album. She even says she will be back on tour next year. Now I can not tell you how much this excited me. She is only 32-years-old and I had the pleasure of seeing her live a couple of years ago – it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. It was energetic, full of colour and she even did a bungee jump during one song. Plus her voice is excellent.
The new single is Blow Me (One Last Kiss) and is another big sounding sing-a-long catchy Pink song. You could say it is classic Pink. She always sings from her heart too, reflecting on her personal life. It’s the first single is taken from her forthcoming sixth studio album, The Truth About Love.
Scouting For Girls gave us the infectious singles This Ain’t A Love Song, She’s So Lovely, Heartbeat and Elvis Ain’t Dead. They then went away to write new material and now they are bringing us their new song, Summertime In The City. This track is so fresh that there is not much about it or their forthcoming album on line yet. So listen out for it on kmfm – we’re bringing you the hits first.
