We have had Lounge on the Farm and The Hop Farm Music Festival, plus loads of you made it through the mud to say hello at the Kent County Show last weekend. Summer is nowhere nearly over. Even if it seems America has stolen the sun, there is still plenty on in Kent.

The One Love Festival is on at the Hop Farm, near Paddock Wood, from Friday, August 10, to Sunday, August 12. It was created in 2008 as the UK’s 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s concert of the same name. It is now in its fifth year and sees crowds enjoying live music. You can find out more via www.onelovefestival.co.uk

You can catch the kmfm Street Team at Whitstable Oyster Festival on the weekend of Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29. This is always packed and if the sun is beating down on the pebbled beach the seafood stalls and restaurants are heaving.

Lawson’s Taking Over Me has just been added to the kmfm playlist. These guys are picking up quite a following. You will know When She Was Fine which you can hear on kmfm. A pop, guitar-lead track with a sing-a-long catchy tune. They have opened for Will Young, Avril Lavigne and record label buddies The Wanted.

In fact, Max George from the latter and Andy Brown from Lawson were in a boy band together called Avenue. They auditioned for the X Factor in 2006 and made it to boot camp. They were on Louis Walsh’s group, but when he found out that they already had a management deal they were disqualified.

I think Andy sounds like Max George. Listen out for Taking Over Me on kmfmand you will hear what I mean. This will be another hit for them, and female fans will love the video. In true boyband style, they have filmed it in the Californian desert on a road trip through east coast America. Very Backstreet Boys.
