Tuned in...

with drivetime DJ Andy Walker

It is all becoming very romantic. Shop windows are showing all shades of red, love hearts are on display in card shops, and I won’t even comment on what those mannequins are wearing in the window at Ann Summers!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. That means your other half may be expecting you to propose. Hey, it is a leap year. Ladies – you could be getting down on one knee, not the men.

And kmfm has the most amazing competition coming soon which you will not only hear about on the radio but be able to see if you visit Maidstone.

A £1,500 diamond-encrusted heart-shaped gold necklace will be frozen in ice at Fremlin Walk from Saturday. The ice will slowly melt and it will be your job to guess how long it will take to dissolve. It’s called Fremlin Ice and the beautiful necklace is courtesy of Frazer Hart. The block of ice is quite something and Ice Creations have done a great job – you won’t want to miss it.

A correct answer could win that piece of designer jewellery. Keep listening to kmfm to find out more or go along to Fremlin Walk and have a guess. Your other half will love you forever if you win.

We are playing you more new music. Have you heard Emeli Sande’s new song, Next To Me? She is a superb songwriter. In fact she is Simon Cowell’s favourite songwriter as she has written hits for Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle.

Emeli is only 24-years-old and has already won the Critic’s Choice Award at the BRIT Awards. She is also up for Best Breakthrough Act this year and is writing songs for the original Sugababes, who are reforming, as well as promoting her own album.

Listen out for Alyssa Reid, her debut solo single, Alone Again, is at No2 in the charts. It’s a cover of the 1980s power ballad by American rockers, Heart. Now covers have been done time and time again but there is something fresh about this remake. A new vibe given to a classic tune which makes you ask yourself the question, “oh, who sang this originally?”

Alyssa, who is from Canada, is only 18. She was a contestant on a reality TV show that was looking for a singer under the age of 15. So it has taken a few years for her to get to where she is now.

Those of you who were listening all this week will have heard us giving away tickets to the BRIT Awards on kmfm. The biggest night in the British music calendar takes place on Tuesday, February 21 and if you won, you are going to have an amazing night at the O2 in London. I’ll be there so I’ll have all the gossip on kmfm Drivetime.
