Normally at the start of the year there is not much new music, as most artists go on holiday. This year, they have still gone away to various sandy beaches but there is some great new music coming through in January.
Have you heard Rizzle Kicks’ Mamma Do The Hump on kmfm yet? Rizzle Kicks are two guys who have been friends since they were four years old and are friends with Gary Barlow. They have a had a few singles out already, but this one is really an infectious tune. Once you hear it you will have the ditty going round in your head all day. The pair are performing at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall on Monday, May 7. Check them out.
Hitmaker Rihanna continues to offer us a new tune. You Da One is, like all of her tracks, memorable but this time has a slight reggae feel, fused with a Caribbean vibe. I love it. Rihanna’s first few singles came out in 2005, but it was not really until Umbrella in 2007 that she really grabbed our attention. Can you believe in that time she has made six studio albums?
Taio Cruz, you will know from big tune Dynamite. He is back with his new single Troublemaker which you can hear on kmfm and if you liked Dynamite then you will like this new offering. He is a very talented guy, having co-written Will Young’s Your Game, Jennifer Lopez’s I’m Into You and David Guetta and Usher’s Without You.
As well as playing you more of The Music You Want at kmfm, we have some big competitions coming soon. One of which I cannot say too much about at the moment, but it involves Coldplay and an aeroplane. I have written too much already – stay listening to kmfm. Coming even sooner on Drivetime is your chance to win a romantic Valentine’s trip with P&O Ferries to the lovely city of Bruges with spending money and the Triple Play Getaway, where we could be sending you into the sunshine on an amazing holiday.
