DISGRACED award-winning actor Chris Langham headed home on Wednesday following an Appeal Court decision for his early release from jail.
Three of the country's senior judges ruled that the 10-month sentence, for 15 offences of downloading child porn, some at the highest level five, was too long.
Instead, they cut it to six months allowing him to be freed on Wednesday. He had been due to come out of prison at the end of December.
The Bafta winner, who lives at Golford, near Cranbrook, had always maintained he was not a paedophile and had only downloaded the image as part of research for his role in the TV series Help.
During her half hour judgement, Dame Heather Steel said the court regarded his explanation as "highly improbable" but she did not consider the court could reject his explanations and claims that he was not a paedophile.
In an exclusive interview with the Kent Messenger, Langham's wife Chrissie said he had been abused in prison.
He was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court on September 17.
