THE nation’s favourite ‘Queens of Clean’ Kim and Aggie are urging people in Kent to spring clean their homes and donate their unwanted goods for charity

The presenters of the programme, ‘How Clean is your House’, have teamed up with healthcare charity, Sue Ryder Care, in its March appeal to get residents to clear out their cupboards and wardrobes.

All money raised from the sale of donated goods will help the charity to deliver quality care to people living with conditions including Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cancer and stroke.

Kim Woodburn said: “Aggie and I are delighted to be involved in Sue Ryder Care’s ‘Spring Clean’ appeal.

“It’s a fantastic way for people to de-clutter their homes and free up storage space and help the charity raise vital funds by donating unwanted items to the charity’s shops, making sure you gift-aid them. People can help the charity make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people they care for each year.”

Unwanted items can be dropped off at any of the 13 Sue Ryder Care shops in Kent and by gift-aiding unwanted items, Sue Ryder Care can add 28 per cent to the value of every donation.

Samantha Leahy, Business Manager at Sue Ryder Care for Kent, said: “Our ‘Spring Clean’ appeal aims to encourage people not to throw items that can be re-used in the bin, but instead donate to our shops. All donations received can be converted into vital funds to enable us to continue to provide care that liberates lives.

“The donation of just one hundred items could raise as much as £500 for the charity. And, if all donations are gift-aided we can raise an additional £140. Each year, the charity needs to raise £13 million in voluntary contributions, so we need as many people as possible to spring clean their homes and donate any unwanted items to Sue Ryder Care.”

All funds raised through Sue Ryder Care’s shops help to support the specialised palliative and neurological care provided at 14 care centres across the UK.
