It's a tale with a happy ending.

For the last three weeks Mr Bigs, a stray miniature Daschund, has been residing at Jasmil Kennels in Lower Halstow. But it seems he was destined for bigger and better things.

After appearing on the Paul O’Grady show on Thursday Mr Bigs has found a new home with a woman working on the Channel 4 show.

His new owner plans to take him into work with her which means Mr Bigs will be mingling with the stars and rubbing noses with Paul O’Grady’s dog Buster who also appears on the show.

Who knows Mr Bigs may even make an occasional appearance on the show himself.

Barry Shuttlewood, owner of Jasmil Kennels, said they were inundated with phone calls following the appeal to find Mr Bigs a new home.

He said: "We had people calling from all over the country - Scotland, Cornwall, Northern Ireland. We have been really surprised by the response.

"Mr Bigs is only a year old. He came to us three weeks ago after he was found under a shed in the garden of a Walderslade home.

"He’s got a lovely temperament and he gets on with all the dogs at the kennels. He’s a real character and we’ll be sad to see him go."
