THREE vehicles were involved in a crash that caused miles of tailbacks this morning.

A white Mercedes articulated tractor unit was in collision with a blue Citroen Saxo and a green Renault 19 in Castle Way, Leybourne, near to the junction with the A20 London Road shortly before 8am.

Although police diverted rush-hour motorists on to London Road via Oxley Shaw Lane, traffic began to build up in all directions.

Two people were taken to Maidstone Hospital but their injuries were not thought to be serious.
