Two men have appeared in court after a man died in an Ashford garden earlier this year.

The body of Jed Turner, 34, also known as Jed Little, was discovered in the garden of a house in St Teresa’s Close, Ashford shortly after midnight on March 8.

John Allen, 58, of Beecholme Drive, Kennington, Ashford, was charged on Monday with one count of conspiring to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

He was bailed to appear at Canterbury Magistrates Court on September 9.

Ben Phillips, 33, of Gilham Bungalows, Smarden, appeared today at Canterbury Magistrates Court charged with manslaughter by gross negligence, conspiring to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body, and of possession of crack cocaine.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 5.
