A FURTHER two wards have been closed at Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, because of suspected norovirus, the vomiting and diarrhoea bug.
Last week Milton Ward was closed, and now Nelson Ward and Tennyson Ward have also been closed.
A hospital spokesman said it was important that hospital visitors who have been unwell or have had contact with patients with diarrhoea and vomiting, should not visit the hospital until they have been symptom -free for 72 hours
Norovirus is a common infection in hospitals particularly during winter. It is not related to C-diff, the superbug which caused at least 90 deaths in hospitals run by the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
