A RESCUE dog being temporarily housed at a kennel has been stolen.

Police are appealing for information after the bitch lurcher cross was taken from the kennel in Lidsing, near Walderslade, Chatham.

Police say that on Monday, August 21 a stranger came in to walk the dog,to see whether he wanted to take her home. He returned soon afterwards stating he was no longer interested.

A young woman later returned claiming to be the man’s daughter and also asked to take the dog for a walk. She has since failed to return with the animal.

The dog is described as reddy brown in colour, very muscular and wearing red socks. She is not chipped.
