Unlucky Addicks sink at Molineux

Wolves 2 Charlton 1

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's 79th-minute goal condemned Charlton to another Championship defeat at Molineux on Saturday.

The hosts went ahead nine minutes before the break and the immutable law of the ex struck again as former Addicks striker Chris Iwelumo squeezed his first goal in 16 matches in at Rob Elliot's near post.

It was tough on Charlton who had matched their high-flying opponents and both Zheng Zhi and Nicky Bailey saw efforts saved by Wayne Hennessey.

The equaliser they deserved arrived six minutes after half-time as Zhi collected Bailey's pass and netted from fully 30 yards.

Wolves should have retaken the lead from the spot in the 68th minute after Mark Hudson was penalised for handball but Elliot saved Ebanks-Blake's penalty.

But Ebanks-Blake made amends with 11 minutes to go when he headed in Iwelumo's cross to give Wolves the points.

Addicks: Elliot, Youga, Hudson, Holland, Butterfield, Soares (Ambrose 73), Racon, Spring (Dickson 80), Bailey, Zhi (Shelvey 88), Kandol. Subs not used: Randolph, Basey.

Attendance: 24319
