Unmasked! Author of city's alternative guide revealed

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

The mystery behind the alternative guide to Canterbury has been solved.

An overwhelming number (82 per cent) of you who responded to our poll on the subject felt it was a fair representation of the city.

And now the booklet's creator has been unmasked - and it's a 25-year-old student from Thailand.

Fon Pimwaree Kittisarakul goes to the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, and made the guide for her masters degree project in spatial practices.

She said: "I remember picking up a city council guide book that talked about all the beautiful attractions.

"I wanted to do something that would contrast with that, looking at other aspects of the city that people don't talk about as much - like the homeless sleeping rough, buskers playing and animals roaming around the streets."

For the full interview with Fon, see this week's Kentish Gazette.
