Vandals go on rampage on building site

VANDALS caused damage running into thousands of pounds when they targeted a construction site in a Kent village.

Damage estimated at around £600 was caused to a fork-lift truck during the incident in Ashford Road, Bethersden, late on Sunday night. The door window was smashed and the seat set alight.

It is believed the fork-lift was used to damage two Portaloos, worth £1,000, which were thrown over a fence.

Blue chemical fluid was emptied onto a concrete car park base causing a further £1,000 damage. Railings around the site sustained damage estimated at £1,000, and a lamppost was pushed over.

Police at Ashford are appealing for information about the incident.
