Colin Moull, who is chronically sick, used to enjoy the sea view from his home in Broadstairs.
But vandals have put paid that. They threw paint on his car causing thousands of pounds damage and also led to paint being spread all over the road.
And to add insult to injury, the paint had been stolen from Mr Moull’s driveway.
The 54-year-old former salesman, of Stone Road, woke in the early hours to discover damage estimated at thousands of pounds to his £10,000 silver Mazda 6.
A five litre paint can had been upturned on his car and paint spread across it “from top to tail”.
He was horrified when he looked beyond his driveway where the car had been parked to see paint spread all over the road.
Yobs had put several paint cans in the middle of the road, they had been hit by passing cars, spreading the paint over the road surface for about 300 yards.
Mr Moull, who was forced to retire early due to conditions including arthritis, diabetes and carpal tunnel syndrome, said: “There is no reason why anyone should want to do this, it is pointless.
“It is like a retaliatory attack, but I would not say boo to a goose. Those responsible have really spoilt this part of the scenic Viking Coastal Trail.
“When I look out of my cottage now instead of first noticing a wonderful sea view, I can see paint spread everywhere on the road surface.”
The hooligans had taken the paint cans from sacks in Mr Moull’s driveway where he had put them temporarily after moving them out of his car, after using it to ferry plants for a fund-raising event in aid of Holy Trinity Church.
He added: “It should be OK to leave rubbish in your own drive, without having something like this happen.”
Police are investigating the incidents, which happened overnight on Saturday, July 5.
