POLICE have named a 31-year-old man who died after apparently cutting through an electric cable while cutting a hedge.

Miguel Fernandes, of St Andrew's Road, Paddock Wood, died after the accident in Pearsons Green Lane, Brenchley, last Thursday.

The accident happened at about 7.15pm. Mr Fernandes was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells but died later that evening.

A post mortem examination is expected to take place later this week and an inquest will be opened.
