Hundreds gathered at Medway Crematorium earlier today for the funeral of Sonny Pataria.

Sonny, who turned 18 a few days before his death, was found in the River Medway on Wednesday, February 11.

Hundreds of condolence messages were posted on Facebook and this website.

Speaking before the service at a memorial event held at Woodside Youth Centre, in Gillingham last weekend mum Lyn Kemp said: “He will be looking down and so proud of all his family and mates – he will be crying with us."

An inquest into the circumstances of his death will be heard at a later date.
