THE risk of flooding in parts of Kent was receding today but villagers were being warned that the danger was not yet over.
A fine, clear day across the county meant that river levels were able to fall. Environment Agency spokeswoman Jo Hunt said that if heavy downpours occurred they could still cause severe problems.
Warnings remained on the River Medway and Eastern Rother, Teise and Beult in Kent. The spokeswoman added: "Currently, the ground is saturated. We will be monitoring the situation very closely indeed."
